Kathryn is a registered clinical psychologist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is also completing her PhD part-time in Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland. Kathryn has six years of experience working in private practice treating a range of presentations. She also has experience working in acute, inpatient mental health settings as well as sessional academia. Kathryn has substantial experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and her PhD research focuses on the adjustment of recently resettled migrant families. At present, Kathryn divides her time between private practice, writing her PhD, and caring for her two young children.

During the assessment process, Kathryn considers the various and often complex factors that may be impacting her clients’ functioning and wellbeing. She aims to work collaboratively with clients – empowering them to take an active role in facilitating positive change in their lives. Kathryn has experience treating a range of mental health presentations and enjoys working with clients across the lifespan. In terms of adult presentations, Kathryn is also available to assist those experiencing depression or anxiety, relationship issues, and adjustment / life transition difficulties. In particular, she enjoys working with parents during their transition to parenthood and adults experiencing relationship and/or communication difficulties. With regards to child and adolescent clients, Kathryn is trained in the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program and is passionate about improving family relationships and reducing parenting-related stress. Kathryn may be able to assist child or adolescent clients experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties. She is available for parenting support and can also advise on school or home-based behaviour management.
