Shannon Tyrie

Shannon is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of Queensland. She has worked across the public and private sector including in an inpatient setting, youth homelessness/housing, and child and youth mental health services.

Shannon has experience supporting clients across the lifespan, particularly teenagers and young adults. She primarily uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) while also drawing from other evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy. She is flexible in her approach, and enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to develop a tailored treatment plan.

Shannon has experience treating a broad range of presentations, with an interest in supporting adults with difficulties related to attachment/childhood trauma, social anxiety, OCD/emetophobia, and struggles with self-worth. She is passionate about working with teens to develop their identity and navigate challenges in their life and within the family, while addressing behavioural or emotional difficulties.

Shannon values being able to provide a safe environment for members of the LGBTQIAP+ community. She is warm and non-judgemental, with values of curiosity, authenticity, and ongoing learning.
