As well as being the Clinical Director of Anxiety House Sunshine Coast, Amber is also a Clinical Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Amber completed her university studies at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand which included a Master of Science and Postgraduate Diploma of Clinical Psychology, including obtaining Departmental Prizes for Psychology as well as a scholarships for her Masters.

Amber has worked within public and private settings in both Australia and New Zealand, including a public eating disorder facility and youth services, and she has been working within Anxiety House for the past six years.

Amber is passionate about developing collaborative formulations with her clients to plan individualized treatment. Amber draws mainly from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Metacognitive Therapy (MCT). Amber has a particular interest in working with eating disorders, including working within frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Enhanced (CBT-E) as well as Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) and Maudsley Family Therapy. Although Amber is interested in all areas of anxiety, she has particular interests in OCD, excessive worry and overthinking, health anxiety and panic, as well as supporting both mother’s and father’s in the postnatal period. Amber is known for her down to earth style, non-judgmental attitude and compassion.

As well as seeing clients within the clinic, Amber is also involved in the day to day running of the clinic including overseeing processes and supporting both the administrative staff and the rest of the psychological team.
